Do I need a passport for Lumbini if I'm Indian?
No. Indian nationals can cross to Nepal on any photo-ID — Aadhaar, Voter ID, Driving Licence, or Passport. Carry two copies of the ID, two passport photos, and ₹5,000–₹10,000 cash for exchange. Children below 16 need a school ID or birth certificate plus a parent's ID.
What about foreign nationals (US, EU, UK, etc.)?
Foreign nationals need a Nepal visa-on-arrival at Sunauli — USD 30 for 15 days, USD 50 for 30 days, USD 125 for 90 days. Two passport photos, USD cash (no card payment), and a return ticket are required. Visa is issued in 20–40 minutes.
Is the Sunauli border crossing complicated?
Not really. There are two parallel checkposts (Indian and Nepali immigration). For Indians it's a 5-minute stamping at Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) booth. For foreigners it's 20–40 minutes including visa processing. Our driver handles all forms and queue management.
What is the Varanasi to Lumbini cab fare?

Indian-registered vehicles need a TIP (Temporary Import Permit) for travel within Nepal. We coordinate this on request — adds ₹2,500–₹4,500 to the trip. Most pilgrims stop at Lumbini and fly to Pokhara/Kathmandu from Bhairahawa airport.
What is the best time to visit Lumbini?
October to March (cool, dry weather). Buddha Purnima (Vaishakh full moon, typically May) is the most spiritually significant — but very crowded and hotels sell out 4–6 weeks ahead. Avoid June–August monsoon (Nepali roads flood).
